Hello, and welcome to Vale! This thread contains all the vital information you may need to know before diving right into the city, so please look over it before you go off gallivanting.
location & size.
Vale is a small city - barely much more than a town - located at the base of Mount Valer, deeper into the wilderness of the Far North than most other pockets of civilization. Vale is surrounded by rugged, rolling mountain wilderness, rarely even remotely warm except in midsummer, and generally untroubled by anything outside town limits.
brief history.
Vale doesn't have a particularly deep history; It was originally settled by human settlers seeking to get away from the rest of society, and has maintained that same mentality ever since. People of all kinds of backgrounds come, most seeking a new and sometimes more isolated life, unaccepted in other places. The town has no real leader or supervisor, relying on an unspoken code of honor and one's own fists and swords to settle disputes.
in-house affiliations.
These are Character Affiliation groups which have an impact and role in the city. The city occasionally hosts Affiliation events for them which allow characters of that Affiliation to gain rank and reputation.
Red Wolf
Setting up shop just outside of town is the Red Wolf mercenary group. Ruthless and lawless, these men and women are the best of the best in what they do, and they don't do it cheaply.

These are common points of interest found throughout the city, completely intended for players to utilize in their role playing.
The Amber Bottle
Located in the center of town, the Amber Bottle is a cozy inn and pub that caters to anyone willing to pay. It's a popular watering hole for the local crowd, run by a short, plump red-headed woman by the name of Mama Tris who's been in Vale long enough to know the difference between a scuffle and full-on brawl - the latter of which is not allowed in her pub, and gods have mercy on the soul who tries to argue that point with her.
Fort Baird
Located on the outskirts of Vale, Fort Baird is the joint military base for both Elistar and Aera. A tall and imposing wooden structure, the fort is under careful watch at all times, though they are admittedly a little lax on who they let through the gates sometimes, mostly because only the locals are ever around, and the locals don't care much for the military types.
citizenship.
Characters who are Citizens of Vale may take part in special Citizenship events as well as own businesses and establishments (which can be added to the list of key locations at the player's request).
